2024: Neo-Pharm bought out pharmacies "Социалочка.рф" in the Kursk region
On July 12, 2024, it became known about the acquisition by the Moscow company Neo-Pharm of 98 pharmacy points of the Социалочка.рф and Pharmacy Traditions chains in the Kursk Region. As a result of the deal, Dmitry Rutskoi, the former owner of the chains, left the pharmacy retail business in the region.
According to Pharmaceutical Bulletin, this transaction is a continuation of the process of restructuring Rutsky's business, which began several years ago. In 2021, Neo-Pharm has already acquired 72 pharmacies of the Rutsky chain in Moscow, the Moscow region and Obninsk. Later, another 64 pharmacies in the cities of Central Russia were sold to Pharmaimpex Group of Companies.
Dmitry Rutskoi explained his decision to sell the network by the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic and tightening shipping conditions from suppliers. According to him, the coincidence of these factors with the process of expanding the network through the acquisition of Farmstar led to significant financial difficulties.
Neo-Pharm, a buyer of Kursk pharmacies, is a large retail chain that is actively expanding its presence in various regions of Russia. The acquisition of points in the Kursk region will allow the company to strengthen its position in the pharmaceutical market of the Central Federal District.
After the completion of the transaction, Dmitry Rutskoy plans to focus on the development of the production asset - the Marbiofarm plant, which is part of the Biotek Group of Companies. Rutskoi, who heads the company's board of directors, noted that the plant is in a pre-bankruptcy state and requires significant efforts to get out of the crisis.
Marbiofarm OJSC, located in Yoshkar-Ola, is a full-cycle pharmaceutical enterprise producing more than 50 names of medicines, biologically active and food additives, as well as substances. According to the audit report, in 2022 the company suffered a net loss of 83 million rubles.[1]
