2024: Introduction of an intelligent electricity accounting system

The Systems and Technologies Group of Companies has implemented an IT project to introduce an intelligent electricity metering system (ISUE) based on the Pyramid 2.0 application software at the facilities of the Norilsk-Taimyr Energy Company, the main supplier of electric and thermal energy in the Far North. NTEK JSC fully supplies energy to the enterprises of the industrial giant - PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel, as well as residents of the Norilsk industrial district, Dudinka, Igarka, Svetlogorsk and Snezhnogorsk. The system is isolated from the Unified Energy System of Russia, which, together with severe weather conditions in the region, forces it to work with increased standards for reliability and survivability.

The need for digital transformation and automation of electricity accounting processes in NTEK JSC is related to compliance with the requirements of the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of June 19, 2020. No. 890 "On the procedure for granting access to the minimum set of ICSS functions." The data of the intelligent system serve as its key resource and the key to effective work. Therefore, ensuring information security and control of access to the system has become an important element of ISUE sustainability.

Also, the departure of foreign vendors and the growth of cyber attacks on KII facilities served as catalysts for the transition to Russian technologies and increasing the protection of critical infrastructure enterprises. Thus, when choosing the composition of the system in the project, the determining factor was the complete localization of the IT solution to ensure the security of a strategically important enterprise for the region, while maintaining the continuity of its activities.

Within the framework of the IT project, the specialists of the Systems and Technologies Group conducted a comprehensive survey of the infrastructure and needs of NTEK JSC and developed a concept for creating an ISUE, with a complete description of the system architecture, its composition, functionality and interaction of elements.

Our team had to build an intelligent accounting system for NTEK with a single control center on a digital platform, as well as provide subscribers with the necessary functionality and information about their electricity consumption through personal accounts. As part of the tasks of import substitution and energy efficiency, we have selected the optimal solution in terms of the balance of functionality, performance and reliability of the system being implemented, "said Mikhail Barinov, project manager of Systems and Technologies Group.

At the project implementation stage, the system infrastructure was deployed and the production environment was configured. The upper level of ISUE is organized in the form of a geographically distributed cluster located in 2 data centers to ensure fault and disaster tolerance in the harsh conditions of the region. The created intelligent system automates electricity accounting and provides functionality for monitoring, control and control of energy supply directly from the system without the need to go to consumers. Access to ISUE data for subscribers, corporate users, contractors and related entities is built through a unified web interface and native " mobile applications Pyramid." Implemented integration with the existing corporate information systems of NTEK JSC.

A system information security policy was also developed in accordance with the requirements of the Standard of PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel. The Pyramid 2.0 software provides two-factor authentication, delimitation of the rights of users and subjects based on the role model, as well as secure data transfer protocols when interacting with devices and users, including GOST.

Specialized training on working with Pyramid 2.0 software was organized for employees of NTEK JSC. At technical seminars, specialists are helped to master all the capabilities of the platform in order to build competent management of the accounting system.

In addition to the implemented implementation, the Systems and Technologies Group of Companies is engaged in the maintenance of the created ISUE and support of users on any issues that arise. Specialists quickly perform software updates in accordance with the product development roadmap and new requirements of industry legislation.
