2024: Product Announcement

In July 2024, the Russian company Meridian introduced an industrial robot for laying sweets, developed specifically for food industry enterprises. The new robotic complex is able to significantly increase production efficiency and reduce the amount of scrap associated with the human factor.

According to RBC, the delta robot is equipped with a "smart" camera, which allows it to recognize sweets randomly located on the tape and carefully shift them into correction packaging. The performance of the device is impressive - it is capable of stacking up to 120 sweets weighing 50 grams per minute, which is 172 thousand units of products per day.

The maximum performance of the complex reaches 7.2 thousand sweets per hour, however, with the installation of additional robots and their connection to each other, this value may increase.

One of the main advantages of the new robot is its flexibility in tuning. When changing the product type, color or overall dimensions, the complex can be quickly reprogrammed thanks to interchangeable components. This makes it a universal solution for various industries in the food industry.

The commercial director of Meridian LLC Sergey Gavrilov stressed that the target audience for the new robot is manufacturers of groceries, snacks, crackers, confectionery and products packed in doi-paki.

The development and implementation of such robotic complexes corresponds to the strategic task set by the government and the President of Russia. By 2030, it is planned to increase the number of robotic complexes in factories and industries to 98 units per 10 thousand employees, while in 2024 this figure is only 8 units.[1]
