The State Museum-Reserve of M. Yu. Lermontov is one of the oldest literary and memorial museums in Russia. It was founded in 1912 in the house in which Lermontov lived the last two months of his life. The museum's collection began with 52 items, as of July 2024, it has more than 62 thousand exhibits.

At ElarSkan A2-600R, it is planned to digitize a large archive of photo documents on the history of the museum and Lermontov places in Pyatigorsk (about 10 thousand items), a collection of large-sized graphics with illustrations for the works of M. Yu. Lermontov (up to 2 thousand), a documentary archive from the history of the museum and personal archives of Lermontologists (more than 10 thousand sheets), - said the chief curator of museum items Anton Valerievich Danilov. - In the near future, digitization of the documentary archive of Lermontologist S.I. Nedumov. The peculiarity of the materials is that the scientist collected information in the archives that died during the Second World War, and his manuscripts remained the only source of information on many local history topics.

ElarScan allows you to digitize even dilapidated documents in a careful contactless mode and receive high-quality electronic copies, which are planned to be used for publication to the State Catalog of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, provision to users, for exhibition and research work.
