Oryol region purchased 1300 laptops for schools

On July 17, 2024, the government of the Oryol region reported that almost 1,300 laptops were purchased for schools in the region. The equipment was delivered to educational institutions within the framework of the regional project "Digital Educational Environment" of the national project "Education."

Portable computers arrived at the Education-57 Resource Center. It was created in the Oryol region in 2023 for the purpose of organizational, methodological, economic, technical and information support for the implementation of regional programs for the development of education and monitoring in the relevant area. The center will distribute laptops to schools in the region.

Meanwhile, the Information City Portal "Oryol Wednesday-Plus" notes that the interviewed teachers indicate a number of problems related to the purchase and distribution of laptops for schools. One is moral obsolescence. Many laptops are operated for 10-12 years, and therefore do not meet modern requirements both in terms of hardware and software. The existing equipment is operated for 10 hours a day, which is why they often overheat and turn off. In addition, teachers complain that laptops are not enough for everyone.

Earlier it became known that under the Digital Educational Environment project, laptops and MFPs totaling 83.1 million rubles will be purchased for educational institutions in the Oryol region. It is reported that the equipment is supplied to the organization as part of various administrative-territorial units: these are Bolkhovsky, Verkhovsky, Dmitrovsky, Dolzhansky, Zalegoshchensky, Krasnozorensky, Maloarkhangelsky, Mtsensky, Novoderevenkovsky, Pokrovsky, Soskovsky, Sverdlovsky, Khotynetsky, Shablykinsky districts, as well as the Oryol municipal district.^[1]
