The IT company BIA Technologies jointly RGAU-MSHA named after K. A. Timiryazev conducted a production test of the "" platform. As BIA. Animal husbandry. Selection a result of the cooperation, it was possible to confirm the efficiency of algorithms computing a software solution on large volumes of "live" information provided by the academy. BIA-Technologies announced this on July 18, 2024.

System "BIA. Animal husbandry. Breeding "is created to assess the genetic potential of breeding animals and model breeding strategy. Based on the mathematical analysis of animal indicators, it gives recommendations for the selection of pairs, the formation of a selection strategy and helps to increase the efficiency of selection.

To test the effectiveness on real data, the base of the Timiryazev Academy "Productivity of pigs in 4 generations" was used, which includes an assessment of the genotype of over 29 thousand pigs of various breeds. Its volume significantly exceeds the minimum required for testing. This made it possible to make the most effective use of the base for research work on the study of the inheritance of signs of productivity, their relationship and dynamics of variability. Conducted with "BIA. Animal husbandry. Selection "the assessment of genetic potential was calculated according to 7 selection features. Predicting pig breeding with a specific trait orientation allows for increased productivity in the selected direction.

The solution helps to increase the profit of the enterprise from each animal by predicting what the next generation will be, and also allows you to optimize the costs of the existing livestock of pigs. Depending on the indicators that are important to a particular agricultural enterprise, breeders can form their own strategies and manage them. For example, if the "feed conversion rate" indicator is chosen, then at the cost of a thousand pigs, the savings on feed can amount to more than 500,000 rubles per year without changing the initial and final weight of each individual animal, "said Dmitry Vladimirov, director of the food office of BIA Technologies.
