In July 2024, it became known that the development of a new light military vehicle Vityaz, equipped with the Volnorez electronic warfare system (electronic warfare) to protect against unmanned aerial vehicles, was completed in Russia. The machine is designed for use by reconnaissance groups and special operations forces in the area of ​ ​ a special military operation.

According to RIA Novosti, the first prototype of the car has already been practically assembled. "Vityaz" was created on the basis of the UAZ-469 chassis, but is equipped with a diesel engine with a capacity of about 100 horsepower with a torque of about 250 Newton meters at 1600 rpm.

Developer of modular compact electronic warfare "Volnorez" Stanislav

The main feature of Vityaz is the presence of both a stationary and a mobile complex of electronic warfare "Volnorez ." This system is made in the form of a small-sized cone 484 mm long and weighing 13 kg. "Breakwater" is attached to equipment using magnetic "Velcro" and can be installed on various types of military and civilian equipment.

The developers emphasize the modularity of the Volnorez complex, which allows you to quickly configure it to suppress enemy FPV drones on a specific sector of the front. Operators can install new "cones," modifying the electronic warfare system for current threats.

As weapons on the Vityaz, anti-aircraft machine gun mounts can be installed, paired with a heavy machine gun KPVT. General Director of Argo LLC Konstantin Bagdasarov noted that the main advantage of the new car is its driving qualities and unpretentiousness in service. According to him, any person with a basic technical education will be able to quickly repair the car in the field.

Among the tasks that Vityaz can perform, the developer highlighted the cover of units during their rotation at the forefront. The car must still be tested at the training ground, where its declared technical characteristics and the operation of the installed electronic warfare system will be checked.[1]
