2024: Conducting an experiment on the labeling of fiber-optic products

The Russian manufacturer of optical fiber JSC "Optical Fiber Systems," located in the Republic of Mordovia, conducted an experiment on the labeling of fiber optic products. The codes were applied to the labels of three coils, the total length of which was 151.2 kilometers. This was announced on July 22, 2024 by the press service of the CRPT (operator of the state marking system "Honest Sign").

The purpose of the experiment is to test the technology of applying codes to important industrial products to prevent the spread of counterfeit goods. The use of poor-quality fiber optic cables can cause accidents, including fires. It is to minimize these risks that the possibility of introducing a state labeling system on the market is being tested, - said Andrei Kirillov, General Director of the CRPT.

The experiment on the labeling of optical fibers and fiber-optic cables takes place in Russia from December 1, 2023 to December 1, 2024. Participation in the pilot for business is free and voluntary, equipment for the period of its holding is provided free of charge by the CRPT operator.

Our company immediately joined the labeling experiment. We believe that the experiment was successful - the codes were considered and the process itself did not cause any difficulties. In addition, we have completed the integration of the traceability system of the products of JSC Optical Fiber Systems and the state marking system Honest Sign. The Optical Fiber Systems company has confirmed its technical readiness to start mandatory requirements.
