ELAR Corporation and the Theater Library have been cooperating since 2004, starting with work on converting catalogs and file cabinets into machine-readable records, digitizing art periodicals, original sketches, as well as archival materials. In 2024, the ElarScan A2-400RA scanner was installed in the Theater Library, with the help of which it is planned to create electronic copies of valuable materials from various funds.

The library funds contain a collection of domestic and foreign documents in 54 languages ​ ​ of the world. The total volume exceeds 600,000 storage units, of which more than 120,000 are especially valuable and rare documents, - said the director of the library Anastasia Grigorievna Gai. - The sector of fine materials contains a large number of albums of prints, lithographs of architecture, theater and national costumes, genre scenes around the world. The funds are available to users in reading rooms and on the library subscription. Also, thanks to digitization projects, more than 40,000 documents have already been digitized and are part of the Electronic Library. You can work with them on computers in reading rooms or remotely. Electronic collections will be replenished, including with the help of new equipment.

The ElarScan A2-400RA scanner will allow library employees to carefully and in high resolution scan various types of sewn and embroidered originals of the format to A2. The V-shaped cradle is adjustable to the desired format and degree of opening - 90, 120 or 180, allowing you to scan originals up to 15 cm thick and weighing up to 15 kg.
