2024: Start of production of PA12 polyamide for SLS technologies

In Russia, they began to produce a new material for 3D printing. The Zelenograd Development Corporation announced this on July 31, 2024.

As a result of successful tests, polyamide PA12 for SLS technologies - a material for 3D printing of plastic products, developed in the laboratory of a Moscow innovative company, went on sale. Previously, only foreign analogues of polyamide could be found in the assortment.

Pilot tests of the KRZ prototyping center confirmed that the physical and mechanical properties of the final products as a result of 3D printing using domestic development do not differ from foreign analogues, while the cost of Russian material is at least 25% lower than European analogues.

Our employees began testing polyamide 12 for Russian-made SLS technologies in April 2024. During this time, during testing, we recommended that the manufacturer make more than 50 changes to the original version of the material before the novelty goes on sale, "said Vladimir Zaytsev, General Director of the KRZ State Budgetary Institution.

KRZ specialists have determined the necessary parameters for the use of this material in production: heating temperature, laser operating time, laser energy transmission power, scanning speed, etc. At the same time, the specialists of the prototyping center will continue to test the material on an indefinite basis to improve and release the following modifications of the novelty.
