2024: Implementing Role Access Model Functionality
On August 8, 2024, Aerodisk announced the introduction of the functionality of the role-based access model in DSS management software.
Before this functionality was introduced into DSS management software, there was no personalized access option. Multiple administrators with different levels of access can now work on the system. Each of them will have its own account, which meets the requirements of information security and allows you to track the logging of all actions with a link to a specialist.
Role model provides deep granularity of access rights. The current release implements access policies for user groups that can be assigned read-only or read-write permissions on DSS objects. For example, you can restrict read-only permissions for users in an infrastructure monitoring group for entire DSS system, or you can create individual users to manage file systems created on an Aerodisk DSS system.
In this way, customers "tasks of viewing events, statuses, and configurations by support team members or automated monitoring systems are solved, and they will not be able to make changes or damage productive systems - accidentally or intentionally.
The updated software in version 5.2.0 supports the Aerodisk DSS of all mid-range lines, including the new Engine AQ. For systems equipped with at least 64 GB of memory per controller, a free update option from version 4.0 is available.
For ENGINE AQ Light, the role-playing model has not yet been announced, but is planned in the future. In the future, it is also planned to expand the functionality, including delineation of rights at the object level and integration with global LDAP and Active Directory directories.
We are excited to introduce this functionality to help our customers manage their storage as efficiently and securely as DSS. The role-playing access model meets modern security and customization flexibility requirements, which makes our solutions even more attractive for business, "said Vyacheslav Volodkovich, CEO of Aerodisk. |
