2024: Product Announcement

In early August 2024, Chef Robotics introduced a universal robot on its OS, which is capable of preparing any dishes. This AI-based system is designed for large-scale food production. Manufacturers promise that the introduction of such robotic systems will increase efficiency and reduce waste at ready-made food factories.

The developers explained that the robot is able to learn and perform various tasks, for example, accurately measure ingredients and pack products as they move along the conveyor belt. While people can work alongside a robot, its use should significantly reduce the need for conventional personnel.

A special set of sensors for scanning ingredients allows the robot to determine the best way to work with products. The robot also scans leftover food to report stocks running out in time. During the tests, the Chef Robotics robot has already produced more than 20 million servings. In the next phase, the company plans to collect even more data for ChefOS training and test the robot's applicability to production for fully autonomous operation.

Although traditional automation techniques have long been used in the food industry, Chef Robotics argues that these solutions cannot cope with rapid menu changes when operating in low capacity conditions. The new robots can handle portions of different sizes and easily place ingredients in different types of containers. They can also operate on multiple levels of the conveyor belt without requiring a break. The robot software supports several languages, and in addition, these robots can be easily moved around the production area, deploying as needed.[1]
