2024: Implementation of automated workplaces

X-Com has completed the project of introducing automated workplaces into the information system of the Institute for Nuclear Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences (INR RAS), a scientific center engaged in particle physics, with a network of international cooperation projects. X-Com announced this on August 21, 2024.

The development of scientific projects in the field of neutrino physics, astrophysics, high-energy physics, accelerator physics and technology, as well as neutron research and nuclear medicine, required an increase in the number and expansion of the functionality of automated workplaces (AWS) of employees.

The project contractor was determined on the basis of an open tender, the participants of which were system integrators, as well as Russian manufacturers and suppliers of IT equipment. Along with the price proposal, the competition committee evaluated the project portfolio of candidates, including experience in cooperation with scientific centers and institutions of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The winner was X-Com, which offered the most qualified conditions for the supply of equipment and the performance of work.

X-Com conducted a pre-design survey of the customer's IT infrastructure, including firmware solutions, client systems, and tools. As a result, recommendations for equipping workplaces were developed, technical specifications were drawn up, including requirements for AWS, their typing depending on the tasks performed by researchers.

Based on the obtained data, the production division of X-Com manufactured and supplied AWS that fully meet the requirements of the software used in scientific research. This approach reduced the total cost of the project by not overpaying for excess performance, and also ensured the best price-quality ratio of the solution created. AWS are included in the information system of the institution, commissioning and testing are performed.
