Sakharov Alexander Gennadyevich

Alexander Sakharov was born in 1979 in the city of Petropavlovsk (Republic of Kazakhstan).

Education

He has two higher educations in the specialties "engineer of communications in organization and management," as well as "economist-manager," which he received in 2001 and 2002 at the Ural State University of Communications.

Career

2001-2017

In 2001-2011, he worked in various positions on the South Ural Railway in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2011-2017, he worked in the South Ural Directorate of the Russian Railways Traffic Management in Chelyabinsk. In 2017, he moved to work at the Central Directorate of Traffic Management of Russian Railways in Moscow.

2021-2022

Since 2021, Alexander Sakharov has been Deputy Head of the Department of Management of the Railway Transportation and Infrastructure Business Block at Russian Railways. In March 2022, Sakharov became the head of the same department.

2024: Appointment as Head of Roszheldor

At the end of August 2024, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a document appointing Alexander Sakharov as the new head of the Federal Agency for Railway Transport (Roszheldor). He replaced Alexei Druzhinin, who was relieved of this position at his own request.

Roszheldor, headed by Alexander Sakharov, is part of the structure of the Ministry of Transport and performs functions related to the provision of public services in the field of railway transportation. The agency's operational management contains state property related to the field of railways and railway transport. In March 2024, Druzhinin, at a meeting with Mishustin, said that last year the department demonstrated "good indicators for the execution of the federal budget" - 99.74% and works under three concession agreements worth over 648 billion rubles.[1]
