2024: Market Entry

In early September 2024, it became known that Chinese robotic dogs equipped with a flamethrower went on sale. The cost of such machines is about $100 thousand.

According to the resource Interested Engineering, the novelty is based on the Go2 model of the Chinese robotic company Unitree. This dog is equipped with a Unitree 4D LIDAR L1 lidar with an ultra-small blind spot and a minimum detection distance of 0.05 m. Algorithms based on artificial intelligence allow you to perform complex actions such as walking upside down, adaptive turning and overcoming all kinds of obstacles. The maximum running speed is 5 m/s.

The equipment of the robot includes Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 wireless adapters, as well as a 4G cellular module. There is an HD camera, microphone and a set of different sensors. The claimed battery life on a single battery charge varies from two to four hours.

A flamethrower module is installed on the back of the cyberdog. It is noted that the design of the Chinese robot resembles the Thermonator model, which is produced by the American company Throwflame. This robotic dog is equipped with the ARC Flamethrower system, which allows you to eject a jet of flame over a distance of about 9 m. Plasma ignition is used on gasoline or diesel. The machine has a universal attachment system and a capacious battery.

The Chinese robot is able to respond to voice commands by performing certain actions. Depending on the embodiment, a payload weighing from 7 to 8 kg can be used. The maximum elevation angle reaches 40 degrees. The design uses aluminum alloy and high-strength plastic. Together with the battery pack, the robot weighs about 15 kg.[1]
