Product: SSJ100 - Sukhoi Superjet 100

Project date: 2024/09

In September 2024, IrAero Airlines signed an agreement with the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) on the supply of 37 domestic aircraft. As part of the contract, IrAero will receive 21 short-haul SJ-100 aircraft, seven medium-haul MS-21 and nine Tu-214. This step is aimed at modernizing the airline's fleet and strengthening the position of Russian aircraft production in the domestic market.

According to Rostec, aircraft deliveries are planned until 2035. The main mechanism for the implementation of this agreement will be financial lease (leasing), for which additional negotiations will be held with leasing companies. This agreement is an important step in the formation of a stable order portfolio for the Russian aviation industry for the period up to 2035, which will make it possible to plan in advance investments in production and development of the personnel potential of the industry.

According to Andrey Boginsky, General Director of PJSC Yakovlev, this cooperation is a logical continuation of the successful model of operation of domestic aircraft that has developed at IrAero Airlines. He also stressed that this agreement will allow the UAC to stabilize production volumes and continue the development of the aviation industry in Russia.

As part of the contract, the airline will receive several types of aircraft. MS-21 is a new generation medium-haul passenger aircraft developed using advanced technology and focused on meeting the demand for passenger traffic on the busiest routes.

Tu-214 is a main narrow-body aircraft equipped with the PS-90A turbofan engine, which is produced by the United Engine Corporation of Rostec.

SJ-100, a short-haul aircraft created as part of the import substitution program, will become another important model in the IrAero fleet[1]
