2024: Plant Launch
In August 2024, the second stage of the workshop for the production of asbestos-free brake pads at the Barnaul ATI plant took place in Barnaul. The total investment in the project, as a result of which the plant earned at full capacity, amounted to ₽157 million, which made it possible to establish the production of high-quality products for the Russian market. The new workshop is equipped with modern equipment and is capable of producing more than 30 types of products, including brake pads and linings for passenger trains "Lastochka" and "Oriole."
According to Katun24, the opening of this production was made possible thanks to the cooperation of business and the state, which ensured the financing and technological development of the enterprise. In particular, thanks to the support of the Russian Industrial Development Fund, the plant received a preferential loan, which made it possible to complete the construction and equipment of a new workshop with an area of 1200 square meters. The total cost of the project exceeds ₽200 million.
InThe production of asbestos-free brake pads at the Barnaul ATI plant began in 2018, when the first stage of the workshop worth ₽277 million was launched. According to the general director of the plant Artyom Shamkov, the decision to develop this area turned out to be timely and in demand on the market. With the departure of foreign brands from the Russian market, the company assumed the task of replacing imported products and successfully implements this strategy by producing pads for trucks, trailers and buses of domestic and foreign production.
The launch of the second stage of the workshop allows not only to strengthen the plant's position on the market, but also to significantly reduce the share of imported goods in the segment of asbestos-free blocks for road transport. The introduction of environmentally friendly technologies has improved the quality of products and their safety, while reducing the cost of production. This, in turn, contributes to the development of exports and the implementation of the import substitution policy in Russia.[1]
