2024: Digitization at ElarScan A2-800RA
The Sakhalin Regional Universal Scientific Library (SakhOUNB) is actively working on the digitization of local history documents (books and periodicals). Access to digitized publications is presented in two electronic libraries of SakhOUNB: Sakhalin and the Kuriles - the islands of the morning dawn, where digitized periodicals are located, as well as the Public Electronic Library, which provides readers with access to digitized copies of local history books. Elar announced this on September 19, 2024.
It is planned to scan periodicals of the A2 format, book local history publications, as well as individual copies of a rare fund on domestic equipment, "said Anna Balova, head of the digitization sector. - The library plans to translate into electronic form about 100 editions per year. |
For September 2024, for example, work is underway with the NEB to digitize the book monument "Son of the Fatherland: a historical and political magazine." Digital copies will also be used to create archived master copies.
The library notes that the scanner of the ElarSCAN line was chosen according to the totality of important characteristics - this is the ability to safely scan a rare fund, and high resolution of the resulting images, as well as support for ELAR specialists at various stages.
