2024: Improving the quality of the environment

PJSC MTS"," the digital ecosystem, September 30, 2024 announced the victory in the auction for digital environmental quality control. Nizhny Novgorod region Environmental monitoring of MTS on the basis of "" Internet of Things will make it possible to instantly detect anomalies, determine the moment of release and concentration of a pollutant in a specific point in the region, and will also make it possible to predict dispersion using. algorithms AI

By the end of 2024, 80 small-sized atmospheric air quality control stations will appear in the Nizhny Novgorod region as part of the formation of a territorial environmental monitoring system. The pilot project started in 2022 with the installation of MTS of the first 5 posts for continuous monitoring of the presence of pollutants in the regional center near industrial enterprises and large highways. PID provides a complete solution, which includes equipment and -platform and ON cloudy IoT protected channels, communications as well as installation and maintenance of the system.

The IT platform collects real-time environmental data from various sources of environmentally relevant information, as well as small measuring equipment located at the operator's base stations. The system promptly monitors actual changes in air quality and meteorological conditions. Among the main measured parameters are concentration, carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, as well as meteorological properties of the environment: temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure.

The Nizhny Novgorod region will be one of the first Russian regions to introduce environmental monitoring solutions. PID will provide continuous monitoring of air parameters for taking prompt measures to identify pollution sources. In addition, the first stage of monitoring water bodies using special measuring buoys will be implemented in the region in 2024. The projects will significantly improve the environmental situation in the region and provide the population of the region with high-quality resources, "said Oleg Aldoshin, Vice President for Corporate and New Business Development at MTS.
