Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) As part of the partnership, senior students will be given access the Russian to the system virtualizations vAIR for conducting educational research and completing thesis.

The vAIR system (hypervisor and expansion to the hyperconverged level) will be deployed on the local infrastructure of the university as part of a three-node (node) learning cluster. The software will be provided completely free of charge for 1 year according to the usual scheme, including the creation of an MIPT account as a standard business user with a connection to the Aerodiska technical support system. This will give students the opportunity to directly interact with the company's technical specialists.

Senior students who are preparing to protect their theses will be able to use vAIR to create layouts of virtual infrastructures, conduct research on compliance with information security regulations, and develop recommendations for protecting virtualized environments.

The project provides an opportunity for a deep practical educational program on virtualization in practice. Starting from the database (what are storage, virtual disks qcow2 and raw, virtual RAM and CPU, how the role-playing model works, etc.), you can rise to a rather advanced level. Students will be able to find out what a hyperconvergent is and how to present dedicated storage from data storage systems, how to maintain the desired level of VM fault tolerance, what parameters need to be configured for different types of OS, "said Alexander Kalinin, product manager of Aerodisk.

On the basis of vAIR, research will also be carried out on the topic of protecting virtualization platforms, including practical identification of shortcomings and developing ways to eliminate them.
