In October 2024, the operation of robots for dismantling buildings began in Russia, which made it possible to significantly speed up work on the demolition of building structures. As part of the Setl Group project at the Parade Ensemble facility in St. Petersburg, a dismantling robot called ROIN was tested.
According to the press service of the developer, the dismantling of the foundation of the tower crane using a robot took only two hours, which significantly exceeds the speed of performing a similar task by a person who would spend at least one shift on it.
InThe robot is remotely controlled using a remote control and equipped with a video surveillance system, which allows the operator to control all stages of work. The technology has demonstrated its effectiveness by confirming the possibility of using such devices on construction sites in Russia. The development of Setl Group is aimed at digitalization and automation of processes related to the dismantling of buildings and infrastructure facilities.
Sergey Staroverov, CEO of Setl Tech, part of the Setl Group holding, noted that the company is actively engaged in the introduction of advanced digital technologies and cooperates with IT startups. According to him, the initiatives selected within the framework of the Build UP accelerator are being tested at the holding's facilities in order to identify the most successful solutions. In particular, the use of a dismantling robot can reduce the cost of demolition and dismantling, as well as improve safety at construction sites.
In addition, the company continues to test other innovative developments. At one of the facilities of the Pulse Premier residential complex, a collapsible geodetic dome was tested to check the soil. The design allows rapid testing of piles with a load of 50 to 150 tons, ensuring flexibility and efficiency of tasks in conditions of limited resources and remote locations.[1]
