Olenegorsky GOK the SCOUT equipped special equipment with satellite monitoring

JSC Olcon (Olenegorsky Mining and Processing Integrated Works, is included into the largest international mining and metallurgical company JSC Severstal), for the purpose of increase in industrial security and increase in efficiency of vehicle fleet, equipped 85 units of the transport equipment with the System of satellite control of motor transport and accounting of fuel SCOUT.

Equipment of motor transport a System SCOUT at the enterprise began in September, 2010. Navigation equipment equips heavy-load dump trucks, passenger transport and the road-building equipment.

"Application of a system will allow to cut down expenses on operation of transport, will increase efficiency of vehicle fleet. GPS monitoring will give the chance to collect information on the number of engine hours, on location of transport, date and time of stay of the machine in this or that point and also to control fuel consumption" — the head of department of the motor transport of plant Sergey Kondrashin comments on equipment.

JSC Olcon develops the fields of ferruterous quartzites of the Zaimandrovsky iron ore area located on the Kola Peninsula (Murmansk region). These fields are one of raw material resources of JSC Severstal. Now at plant extraction of ore is conducted on five pits and the underground mine. The total annual volume of extraction of ore is 14.5 million t. The capital technology equipment applied on open mining operations are EKG-10 excavators, the SBSh 250 MN drilling rigs, MT 3300 EXPERT BelAZ 75131 and 75145, Unit Rig dump trucks.

"We know that the management of GOK pays much attention to questions of industrial security, and in 2007 the enterprise received the certificate of conformity of a system of management in the field of labor protection according to the international standard OHSAS 18001", - the commercial director of SCOUT group Visnevsky Yury says. "We are sure that control of observance by drivers of the high-speed mode and also work-rest schedules will become one of measures of increase in industrial security at plant. All these moments can accurately be controlled using a system SCOUT", - he adds.
