2023: Global telemetry sales up 8% year over year to reach $21.14 billion

In 2023, the global telemetry equipment market reached $21.14 billion. This is about 8% more compared to 2022, when costs in this area were estimated at $19.66 billion. The industry is showing steady positive dynamics, as stated in the Market Research Future review, published at the end of November 2024.

The telemetry equipment market is experiencing significant growth driven by high demand for remote monitoring and data collection facilities in various areas. The key drivers are attention to improving operational efficiency and performance, combined with the active introduction of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. Organizations from a variety of sectors, including healthcare, automotive, and logistics, use telemetry devices to improve decision-making, optimize resource allocation, and provide real-time data access. For example, in medicine, telemetry solutions are applied to monitor patients and their activity. In the automotive industry, telemetry systems enable fleet management, which helps improve routing, reduce fuel consumption, and improve driver safety. In logistics, monitoring helps improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Technological advances play an important role in the development of the market. Improvements in sensors, wireless communications, and data analytics tools lead to the development of more sophisticated telemetry systems. Such solutions allow you to improve the accuracy and reliability of the collected indicators, which is critical for critical applications. Organizations are increasingly using advanced telemetry platforms to improve operational efficiency and gain competitive advantage. Government initiatives and regulations aimed at improving safety and efficiency also have a positive impact on the industry. Authorities around the world recognize the benefits of telemetry devices in improving public safety and optimizing resource management.

Using data transmission technology, the authors of the study distinguish four key market segments: this is a global positioning system, cellular communications, satellite communications and short-distance communications. In 2023, the first of these areas provided revenue at the level of $7 billion. Cellular and satellite channels accounted for $6 billion and $4 billion, respectively. Another approximately $4.14 billion was provided by short-distance communications. Significant players in the global market are named:

From a geographical point of view, North America became the leader in 2023, where sales of telemetry equipment reached $8 billion. This is followed by Europe and the Asia-Pacific region with costs of $5.5 billion and $5 billion, respectively. In South America, spending amounted to about $1 billion, while the Middle East and Africa together provided $1.64 billion.

At the end of 2024, revenue in the global telemetry equipment market is estimated at $22.74 billion. Market Research Future analysts believe that in the future, the CAGR will be 7.55%. As a result, by 2032, costs on a global scale could increase to $40.7 billion.[1]
