2024: Construction begins

At the end of November 2024, it became known that China Russia they had begun to create a joint "" commercial and industrial park with Kaluga an initial investment of ₽4,2 billion. The start of construction is scheduled for the spring of 2025, and the first residents will be able to place production in a year.

According to TASS, the areas of activity of the park will be the development of microelectronics, information technologies and the production of automotive components. The technopark will also house Chinese construction industry enterprises and manufacturers of consumer goods.

The Governor of the Kaluzhskaya Region Vladislav Shapsha noted the high interest and enthusiasm of the Chinese side for the project. The agreement on the creation of the park was signed in October 2024.

The commercial and industrial park will be located on the territory with convenient transport accessibility to the main railways and highways. This arrangement will optimize logistics processes for future residents.

The project is aimed at increasing the volume of industrial production in the region and creating additional jobs. Special attention is paid to the development of export potential and the expansion of trade relations between countries.

Kaluga region has a successful experience in creating industrial parks and special economic zones. The new Russian-Chinese project will be the next step in the development of the industrial infrastructure of the region.

The regional administration is preparing a site for the placement of enterprises. Work is underway to provide the future industrial park with the necessary communications and engineering infrastructure.

The implementation of the project will contribute to deepening economic cooperation between Russia and China, attracting new investments and technologies to the regional economy.[1]
