2025: Robot lost its temper and attacked a man

In early May 2025, during a public demonstration in Kitaegumanoid, the H1 robot developed by Unitree unexpectedly began to move chaotically and, according to eyewitnesses, attacked the engineer. The incident was captured on video, which subsequently caused a wide resonance on social networks.

The robot lost its balance and began to make chaotic movements during testing. As a result of the incident, the computer that controlled the device was dropped. It was possible to stop the uncontrolled movements of the robot only after a complete power outage.

Unitree H1

Representatives of Unitree explained that the humanoid robot did not get out of control literally. The device tried to maintain equilibrium in conditions to which it was not adapted. Robot H1 is equipped with a stabilization system that allows you to adapt to changes in the position of the body and the surface of the support.

The main cause of the failure was a safety cable mounted on the head of the robot - a standard safety measure during public tests. H1 stabilization algorithms were not designed to limit movements to a fixed point in the head region. When the robot could not adjust its position in the usual way, the program perceived the situation as a serious destabilization.

After several careful attempts to level out and fail to get a result, the H1 began to make increasingly sharp and wide movements in an attempt to overcome the limitations that had arisen. From the outside it looked frightening - the movements became aggressive, giving the impression that the robot was purposefully attacking.

Some viewers compared what was happening to personnel from fantasy films about the uprising of cars. In the comments to the video, users even recalled the SkyNet artificial intelligence system from the movie "Terminator," which in the cinema universe captures power over the world.[1]
