2024: Intel Xeon Scalable Sapphire Rapids Modular Server Introduction
Delta Computers on December 2, 2024 announced the release of an eight-processor modular server based on Intel Xeon Scalable Sapphire Rapids.
The product includes configurations of up to 480 Sapphire Rapids cores and 32 TB of RAM DDR5 up to 4800/4400 MHz. Up to 24 PCIe Gen5 add-in cards are supported as expansion slots. As in other Delta Computers solutions, this product uses the Delta BIOS and Delta BMC firmware developed in Russia.
Delta Spider's hi-end server is a reliable and high-performance platform for the most critical and highly loaded applications of large enterprises, such as enterprise management systems (ERP&CRM) and automated banking systems (ABS), real-time decision analysis systems, billing and payment systems, and many others that require maximum computational performance and reliability.
Delta Spider is capable of providing stable operation of database management systems located in the memory of a computing complex up to 32 TB, which is several times higher than the solutions on the market of Russian manufacturers of computing systems.
2024 was a breakthrough year for Delta Computers in many ways. In 2024, we turn 8 years old, and we are pleased to present to the Russian market a product developed on the basis of international standards. As of December 2024, only 6 companies in the world have eight-processor platforms, including HPE, Lenovo, Bull/Eviden, etc. Today we have become the seventh company capable of developing, producing and supporting the most important platforms for large customers. Since the tasks of large database instances are acute and very painful for all customers in our country, we are pleased to present a system fully developed by Russian engineers that can answer these challenges, "said Andrey Chernyshev, CEO of Delta Computers. |
However, these are not all the new items that were presented as part of the big announcement. Delta Computers also announced the Delta Dragonfly ethernet switch, developed on the basis of the Broadcom Tamahawk 3 ASIC with interfaces up to 400 GB and the Delta Firebird high-speed PCIe switch, providing the integration of up to 6 devices over the PCIe x16 Gen5 interface into a computing cluster. Both products can be used not only in server racks of standard mounting width 19 ', but also in OCP-chassis 21', which is very important, since OCP solutions are increasingly popular not only in the world, but also in our country. The expansion of products also affected the DSS line - the company introduced Delta Marlin, a disk system that supports up to 36 NVMe drives with PCIe Gen5 interfaces that occupy only 2U in the rack.
At the event, it became known about the update of the already proven Delta Sprut product, an analogue of the HGX platform from Nvidia. Due to the use of new technologies and support for NVIDIA cards H100 the updated solution is practically not inferior in performance to HGX, but has much more flexible configuration options for training neural networks.
