2024: Launch of production of fire robots in Karelia for ₽200 million
In December 2024, the EFER Engineering Center launched a new production of intelligent fire extinguishing systems in Petrozavodsk with a total cost of ₽200 million, of which ₽50 million was provided by the regional industrial development fund.
Director of the FRP Karelia Victoria Igasheva said that funds for the development of production were allocated from a federal subsidy Ministry of Industry and Trade Russia in the amount of ₽60,3 million, intended to provide preferential loans to industrial enterprises in the region.
The project provides for the modernization of production facilities, the introduction of new technologies and the optimization of work processes. The company plans to increase production volumes and create additional jobs for residents of Karelia.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Karelia, EFER, founded in 1984, is the leader in Russia and the CIS countries in the development and production of fire robots and barrel fire equipment. The product range includes more than 200 products.
Thanks to the implementation of the investment project, the republic managed to write off ₽43,2 million budget loans under the program launched by the Russian government in 2020. The debt cancellation mechanism has become an additional incentive for the development of industry in the region.
The Karelia Industrial Development Fund provides preferential loans to enterprises in the region for amounts from ₽5 million to ₽100 million at 1-5% per annum for the modernization of production facilities and the introduction of new technologies.
The project is financed within the framework of the regional industry support program, for which the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia allocated funds to Karelia in August 2024.
The new production will allow the company to increase the production of modern fire extinguishing systems, which are in demand both in the domestic market of Russia and in the CIS countries.[1]
