2024: Self-driving truck testing
EvoCargo on December 10, 2024 announced the next introduction of its autonomous trucks. While many market players are introducing self-driving truck prototypes, Evocargo is already rolling out trucks in real-world conditions, scaling its service and moving toward fully autonomous logistics.
The group of enterprises Severstal-metiz"" announced the passage of a test launch of autonomous cargo transportation at the enterprise in. In total, Cherepovets 4 internal routes were automated on the territory of the plant with a total length of 8 km. The project was implemented jointly with the manufacturer and service-autonomous provider logistics "EvoCargo." The fifth generation Evocargo N1 autonomous truck is made without a cab for the driver, steering wheel and pedals. The operation of the robotic platform is provided by a complex multisensory perception system built on the basis of modern algorithmic machine learning. Artificial intelligence technology, computer vision and a variety of sensors create a 360 ° view, allowing the robotic platform to respond to obstacles 3 times faster than the driver.
The introduction of autonomous transport is in line with the company's targeted strategy for digitalization and automation, which reduces operating costs and the cost of the finished product, and the level of security and productivity is growing, "said Oleg Golyakov, head of digital development at Severstal-Metiza. |
Severstal-Metiz is actively testing various solutions for robotizing production and logistics processes, choosing the most effective of them for subsequent implementation and replication.
We are pleased to cooperate with Severstal-Metiz and believe that this project is an important step towards the massive introduction of autonomous technologies into the logistics processes of large industrial enterprises. In the metallurgical industry, the need for process safety and increased productivity is a priority, and autonomous logistics, in turn, makes operational processes more coherent, transparent and predictable. By reducing downtime, fleet costs and PHY, the economic efficiency of movements is growing, which is a key factor for business to implement automated solutions, "said Vasily Zhukov, Deputy General Director - Commercial Director of EvoCargo. |
In Severstal-Metiza, EvoCargo trucks are tested for in-plant movements of various cargoes - materials, containers, packaging, grease.
