2024: Cluster Launch

In the Kaliningrad region in December 2024, a cluster of information technologies began work, created on the initiative of the regional ministry of digital technologies and communications. At the first stage, five leading IT companies in the region joined the project.

According to TASS, the subordinate organization of the Ministry of Digital Development, ANO Digital Development, has been appointed the managing company of the cluster. Coordination of activities is carried out by the Center for Entrepreneurship Support of the Kaliningrad Region.

Anastasia Blue, Acting Minister of Digital Technologies and Communications of the Kaliningrad Region, said that the cluster will assist market participants in attracting investments from private investors and state support funds, as well as form a common position in relation to existing measures of state support for the IT industry.

The new structure will combine the efforts of IT companies, government organizations and educational institutions to implement joint projects. The main tasks of the cluster include developing cooperation between participants, supporting startups, unlocking the talent potential of youth and implementing training programs.

Within the framework of the cluster, it is planned to organize joint educational projects, including internships for students and young specialists. Special attention will be paid to the development of international cooperation and attracting investments in the regional IT industry.

In early 2025, the cluster is planned to be expanded to include development institutions and educational organizations implementing training programs for specialists in the field of information technology. The first working meeting of the participants took place as part of the conference of cluster initiatives.

The creation of an IT cluster is aimed at increasing the competitiveness of the technological sector of the region and the formation of an effective ecosystem for the development of digital projects in the Kaliningrad region.^[1]
