In December 2024, the new kvol-spinning factory "Caritex" launched the first production line for the manufacture of acrylic yarn in Cherkessk. The total cost of the project exceeds ₽2 billion.

According to Riakchr.ru, 110 jobs were created at the first stage, and the line's capacity is 800 tons of yarn per year. Upon completion of all stages of the project, by the end of 2025, the enterprise's productivity will reach 15 thousand tons of recycled wool annually.

Yarn factory launched in Karachay-Cherkessia for ₽2 billion

The project is being implemented within the framework of the Roadmap for the development of deep processing of sheep's wool in Russia. Karachay-Cherkessia was included in the list of pilot leading regions for the production of wool in the country.

At full capacity, the company will provide 628 people with work. The production of textile knitted goods is one of the leading areas of industry in the republic, where 1.5 thousand tons of wool were produced in 2023.

The North Caucasus Federal District produces half of all wool in Russia. The largest producers are Dagestan with an indicator of 14 thousand tons and the Stavropol Territory, where 6 thousand tons were received.

The launch of the new enterprise will strengthen the position of Karachay-Cherkessia in the country's textile industry and will ensure deep processing of wool directly in the manufacturing region.

The Ministry of Industry and Energy of Karachay-Cherkessia emphasizes the strategic importance of the project for the development of light industry in the republic. The creation of high-tech production will increase the volume of processing of local raw materials and create new jobs.

The factory is equipped with modern equipment, which will make it possible to produce high-quality products and compete in the Russian textile market. The project also promotes import substitution in the production of yarn and textile materials.[1]
