Education

In 1981 he graduated from secondary school No. 3 in the city of Ishimbay (Bashkortostan).

In 1981-1986 studied at the Ufa Oil Institute at the Faculty of Mining and Oil, specializing in "Drilling oil and gas wells."

In 2004 he graduated from Tyumen State Oil and Gas University, specialty "Organization Management."

Career

1986-2012

In 1986 to 2002 worked at NGDU Vatyeganneft near Surgut, having gone from a driller to a chief engineer. In 2002, he was appointed deputy general director of Lukoil-Western Siberia LLC (Kogalym's subsidiary of the company, from 2003 to 2005 he was the first deputy general director of the Pokachevneftegaz Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and rose to the rank of general director.

In 2009, he was appointed general director of the Kogalymneftegaz Chamber of Commerce and Industry, then became the first deputy general director and chief engineer of the main division of Lukoil in Ugra - Lukoil-Western Siberia LLC. In 2012, he headed the company.

Sergey Kochkurov was elected to the district parliament of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Ugra in 2011, worked until the end of the convocation. He represented the interests of Kogalym voters. He was deputy chairman of the budget committee.

2019-2020

In 2019, Sergey Kochkurov received the post of vice president of PJSC Lukoil for production service. Since June 25, 2020, Kochkurov has been vice president for oil and gas production.

2025: Appointment as CEO of Lukoil

In January 2025, it became known about the appointment of Sergei Kochkurov as the new general director of Lukoil instead of Vadim Vorobyov, who fell under US sanctions.

Before heading Lukoil, Sergei Kochkurov worked for the company as vice president for oil and gas production in Russia.[1]
