History of the company

1996 – 2003.

In 1996 it happened: several large Moscow shops integrated under a brand of CentrObuv, and the continuous history of development of retail network which then only should become the largest in Russia from this point began.

Those years the design of shops was still very simple, the range not really rich. But from the very first day we chose a successful unique format of retail, and our development did not stop, per day. The appearance of shops of the company, the range changed, following needs of consumers and market changes.

But main thing: Found CentrObuv the mission, the main principle of business: people should have an opportunity to buy various, beautiful and stylish footwear.

In those times, difficult for most of people, created retail network, focused on self-service, and making footwear really available to most of people.

We managed to organize trade so that as much as possible to save time of the buyer and maintenance costs of shops. The schemes of merchandising found then are applied also till today.

The market developed, the competition became more serious. Many copied the successful scheme of trade in CentrObuv. To resist to the competition we began to pay more attention to marketing, the local marketing actions directed to involvement of buyers for the first time began to be applied.

2000 – 2003

In 2000 in Moscow there were already 50 CentrObuv shops. Opening of the first shops in the cities Tula, Penza took place and St. Petersburg;

Then for the first time traditional actions began: discounts of 13% are the 13th days of every month.

Local actions were succeeded by mass advertizing campaigns across all Moscow. After marketing and merchandising we improved the HR policy: regular competitions of sellers which winners join in a talent pool on a position of directors of shops began to be held.

2004 – 2011

Only a year later there was an opening of the 100th shop and every new year there were tens of new. And now them already more than 400.

These years there was this fashionable revolution. From this point following to fashion trends and permanent updating of the range becomes the main task. CentrObuv very carefully approaches selection of collections of footwear, new collections even pass test.

Besides, the range of shops was expanded at the expense of joint products: scarfs, stoles, jewelry, hair accessories, hosiery, sunglasses, hours, purses, slippers and other goods.

New programs for our clients started: discount accumulative programs, new seasonal actions.

In 2006 restyling of the company was carried out, the new logo is approved. That which you can see on shops and boxes with footwear also now. Also the uniform name "CentrObuv" is approved. Exchanged, there was cozier and modern a design of shops.

Successful experience of CentrObuv in the organization of trade allowed us to share this experience with others. The decision on sale of a franchize was made. Now the franchasing network consists already more than of 30 shops.

2016: The Ministry of Internal Affairs brought criminal case about fraud

Check of "Centrobuvi" according to the statement of Gazprombank came to the end in May, 2016 with criminal proceedings. The investigators suspect that the borrowing facilities issued to network were transferred to third-party firms — contrary to conditions of agreements with banks.

Gazprombank in April, 2016 asked the capital Department of MIA for fight against economic crimes to estimate activity of owners and management of JSC CentrObuv Trading House. In 2013-2014 the bank opened credit lines of Centro LLC (the operator of the Centro retail network entering into the CentrObuv group) and "TD "CentrObuv", at the same time borrowers provided to bank of the guarantee the friend for the friend.

In 2016 the term of return of means expired, and at the companies debt to Gazprombank in the amount of 8.6 billion rubles was formed. The bank asked investigators to check whether there could be withdrawal of money from "Centrobuvi". According to sources of the Kommersant newspaper, Gazprombank counted 12 transactions which legality raised doubts.

In May in office "Centrobuvi" there took place seizure of documents which studying as RBC became known, came to the end with criminal proceedings[1].

2017: CentrObuv was declared bankrupt (the amount of requirements of 23.58 billion rub)

The arbitration court of Moscow in March declared bankrupt the shoe retailer "CentrObuv trading house. RNS reported about it.

"Recognize "CentrObuv trading house the insolvent bankrupt, open against the debtor bankruptcy proceedings for six months" — the judge said.

As it became known, the decision was made on the basis of the petition of the representative of the interim manager for recognition of the debtor by the bankrupt.

It is specified that the total amount of the requirements included in the register is 23.58 billion rubles.
