Rostelecom completed mobile DPC

Start in operation

Rostelecom put the mobile data processing center (MDPC) into commercial operation. It consists of the separate modules created based on standard 40-foot sea containers and can be quickly unrolled and connected to communication channels of Rostelecom. At these World Data Centres allows to perform storage and data processing and also providing full range of services with high reliability, fault tolerance and performance.

World Data Centres are created using solutions of IBM according to international standard TIA/EIA-942 and meet the requirements of the 3rd level of reliability (Tier III). The Nvision Group company became the contractor on implementation of this project.

According to the vice president Rostelecom Andrey Balatsenko, based on DPC the operator will be able to render a full range of services, beginning from a virtual hosting and finishing with services of "the electronic government".

Creation of new DPC became one of the largest projects in IT infrastructure plot area in the Far East region. The total amount of investments of Rostelecom into the project was 110 million rubles. Structurally World Data Centres contain 15 racks 42U for placement of the equipment and all necessary engineering systems: uninterrupted power supply, conditioning, fire safety, monitoring and control of parameters of infrastructure.

The new DPC of Rostelecom consists of normal containers and if necessary can be dismantled and built on the new place

The conditioning system consists of two independent hydraulic circuits (external - ethylene glycol, internal – water) with intermediate lamellar heat exchange devices. System architecture provides the greatest possible degree of security and reservation.

The integrated monitoring system of World Data Centres allows to carry out control of climatic parameters, statuses of technology equipment, video surveillance in real time. All essential parameters of a system are displayed on dashboards of operators. Are composition of monitoring: controllers of the top level (network), controllers of the bottom level (executive), primary sensors (temperatures, humidity, opening of doors) and also television cameras.

Level of reliability of World Data Centres corresponds to the serious Tier III level

The automatic fire-extinguishing system covers all technology containers of World Data Centres. The structured cabling system of World Data Centres provides the maximum scalability, flexibility, modern design and convenience of operation.

During implementation of World Data Centres power supply issues were resolved: the electric power supply system implemented according to scheme N+1 consists of 2 diesel-generator stations with a total power more than 1.2 MW, modules of uninterrupted power supply, a bypass and rechargeable batteries. All complex provides the guaranteed and regular power supply of World Data Centres with the maximum degree of reliability.

Construction

NVision Group the contract with a chief operator of the fixed and mobile communication of the Far East region of JSC Dalsvyaz for development and delivery of the Data processing center in mobile execution (World Data Centres) based on the equipment of IBM signed.

The project deadline – the first quarter 2011 of NVision Group participates in development of complex design, performs delivery of the solution and its integration into communication systems, power supply, water supply and also performs the general management of the project, controls quality and terms of its implementation. Specialists of NVision Group carry out all complex of technical works on preparation of the platform for placement of World Data Centres.

World Data Centres will consist of two groups of standard transport containers. In the first group 14 racks for server and telecommunication equipment will be placed (including 6 under existing and 8 under perspective placement). The second group is intended for placement of the engineering equipment (the system of power supply, conditioning and so on). According to international standard TIA/EIA-942 of World Data Centres of JSC Dalsvyaz it will be designed according to the 3rd level of reliability. It allows will not guarantee 99.982% ensuring continuous operation of all equipment placed in a data processing center, thus to exceed a planned break in work of World Data Centres 95 minutes a year.
