Gashkov's resignation occurred against the background of an incident in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, where 50 patients of the regional oncological dispensary were infected with hepatitis B and S. It turned out that the focus of infection arose in the office of computed tomography, which was then closed by a court decision for 30 days.
