2024: Ex-deputy chairman received 5 years in prison for embezzlement of 4.8 billion rubles

2017: License Revocation

On July 20, 2017, by order of the Bank of Russia, it revoked the banking license from the Joint-Stock Commercial Interregional Fuel and Energy Bank Mezhtopenergobank credit institution. According to the press service of the regulator, Mezhtopenergobank placed funds in low-quality assets, including in the construction and investment spheres, and inadequately assessed the credit risks taken. At the same time, the bank provided loans to companies that do not conduct real business. In addition, the credit institution did not comply with the requirements of the laws and regulations of the Bank of Russia in the field of combating the legalization (laundering) of proceeds from crime and the financing of terrorism in terms of identifying transactions subject to mandatory control, as well as submitting the required information to the authorized body. In accordance with the order of the Bank of Russia, Mezhtopenergobank PJSC appointed a temporary administration. The powers of the executive bodies of the credit institution in accordance with federal laws have been suspended.

According to the reporting data, as of July 01, 2017, the credit institution ranked 108 in the Russian banking system in terms of assets. Intertopenergobank is a member of the deposit insurance system.

The main owner of the bank is Yuri Shutov, who controls 24.97 percent of the shares of the credit institution. Intertopenergobank, among other things, has a network of branches in Siberia, obtained after the merger of the Novosibirsk bank Alemar in the early 2010s.
