2025: Warehouse Process Management
On January 29, 2025, AXELOT announced that it has developed business processes and proposed storage systems that allow you to effectively use the space of Toimart's combined warehouse complex .
According to the company, AXELOT specialists were engaged in the development of the concept of the combined warehouse. Within project experts:
- designed optimal rack systems taking into account the indicators of the target model of reserves and cargo traffic;
- Define storage capacity by business line, category, and product group
- Have developed master and auxiliary business process flow charts to reduce the time and number of personnel involved
- calculated the required number of personnel and provided recommendations for the selection of warehouse and auxiliary equipment.
The warehouse will have three zones with different temperatures: + 15 ° C, + 8 ° C and -15 ° C. This range allows you to store a wide range of goods, including perishable products.
The focus was on topology and business processes. During the analysis, it was found that there are several "intercepting" operations of goods movement from unloading to the storage area and from the storage area to shipment. Taking into account the fact that the company's distribution business assumes the optimal turnover of stocks and the intensity of commodity flow, when designing the principles of placing goods in the storage areas of the combined warehouse based on FMR analysis of historical data, AXELOT specialists were able to achieve the optimal sequence and number of movements.
The organization of the warehouse space according to the concept developed by AXELOT specialists will allow efficient use of the resources and volume of the combined warehouse complex. Goods belonging to the customer in the proposed topology will occupy only 70% of the capacity of the warehouse building. This will make it possible to allocate additional areas for subleasing. In the future, if the number of stocks exceeds the target, the customer will be able to cancel the sublease in order to use additional space and continue working in the same building with the same business processes. The developed rack systems combine front and shelf racks. A well-thought-out system for calculating cell sizes and their placement provides flexibility and adaptation to the ever-changing needs of the business. Cells can hold both small (piece) and larger (boxes, pallets) goods.
For the convenience of loading and unloading of all types of transport, a universal loading and unloading front is provided in the warehouse complex, combining the following places:
- for heavy vehicles with rear loading;
- for low-tonnage vehicles on the ramp;
- for rail transport.
The concept of the combined warehouse fully meets the requirements for the implementation of WMS. The applied storage systems, developed logic and strategy for placing goods, as well as the described technological processes will allow Toimart not only to place all goods from several sites in one warehouse, but also to organize the space so that the available reserves of the area can be used with different functionality.
