2025: Equipping Onboard Control Systems with Loading Cranes
Dronshab Group specialists equipped the loading cranes of the Tambov enterprise Metal Service with onboard control systems. The technological solution allows you to significantly increase the speed and efficiency of work performed at the enterprise, as well as the level of employee safety. Natalya Gurduza, head of industrial automation at Dronshab Group, spoke about this on February 3, 2025.
Onboard control systems provide remote control of cranes without the presence of a crane operator in the cockpit. Control and control over the operation of the equipment is carried out using the automated workplace (AWS) of the operator. One operator can work immediately with 6-8 cranes located not only in different areas of the enterprise, but also in different regions.
Cranes are equipped with video cameras that broadcast the view from the cockpit to the crane operator. This allows the specialist not to walk from one crane to another, wasting time. It is always in one workplace and, if necessary, connects to the desired crane, depending on where the car has arrived, which needs to be loaded or unloaded. This system allowed the crane to increase the speed of processing all orders, as well as solve the problem of the enterprise associated with a lack of personnel to ensure the operation of cranes, - said Natalya Gurduza. |
The system works using neural networks. They allow you to automatically position the cargo above the desired unloading or loading sector, collect and analyze data on the location of goods, the level of workload of the enterprise. In addition, neural networks track possible dangerous situations in the crane area. If people appear in the danger zone, the neural network recognizes them and automatically blocks the operation of the crane. As soon as people leave the danger zone, the crane resumes work.
The control system does not interfere with the existing crane structure, but works with existing controls. Therefore, if necessary, the crane operator can perform some work on loading in manual mode.
