2024: Implementation of dry veneer sorting line scanner
On February 4, 2025, LLC Laboratory of Measuring Systems (part of PAO Severstal) announced the commissioning of a domestic scanner for its own dry veneer sorting line. The system was introduced at the plywood plant of ZAO Murom in the Vladimir region.
The scanner is designed to automatically determine the variety of birch veneer and analyzes wood defects and processing defects in real time. In addition, the system is already adapting to work with other species of wood, which makes it a universal tool for forestry enterprises. The solution is integrated with the moisture meter and allows comprehensive quality control on the production line.
The scanner has been in operation since December 2024 and provides higher sorting accuracy and reliability in operation compared to foreign equipment. The use of the system already brings a significant economic effect due to increased productivity and quality of finished products.
The completion of the pilot project at the Murom Plywood Mill is a significant achievement for our team. We are proud that we were able to offer the market a domestic solution that fully meets the high requirements of Russian enterprises. This project was the result of fruitful cooperation and mutual trust with our partners, - commented Oleg Shestakov, General Director of Laboratory of Measuring Systems LLC. |
