Launch of direction on AI robotics, or physical AI

Yandex Education starts educational direction by AIto robotics-, or physical AI. This is training to build intelligent robots that analyze the environment, take context into account and make decisions on their own in the real world. Such robots are capable of performing complex practical tasks in various fields - from logistics to production. For the 2026/2027 academic year, Yandex plans to teach AI robotics to over 200 thousand schoolchildren and students. Yandex announced this on November 13, 2025.

In 2026, Yandex will open AI robotics circles and an educational platform for schoolchildren, and will also release robots for practical training. Students will be able to take part in the Physical AI Garage program, and Yandex modules for physical AI will appear in the programs of the country's leading universities. This was told by the director of Yandex Education Darya Kozlova.

In 2026, Yandex Education will launch a free online platform for II- robototekhnike - an educational and gaming environment for schoolchildren from 8 years old. At the first stage, a simulator will appear here in which to program virtual AI robots can be used. Children will learn from scratch the basics, algorithms working with sensors, computer vision and not only through step-by-step instructions, game formats, contests and communication with like-minded people. The platform will also be useful for parents and educators as a resource for additional activities with children.

The next step is Yandex to introduce a compact delivery robot that can be independently programmed on the platform. It will have built-in computer vision technologies and a sensor system for navigating and bypassing obstacles. The robot will be able to navigate space, recognize people and objects, go around obstacles and respond to voice and gestures. The teams of Yandex Education, Autonomous Transport and Yandex Factory are working on the prototype. The first batch of robots will be released during the 2026/2027 school year.

As of November 2025, a pilot course on AI robotics is underway at Yandex Lyceum, on the basis of which 50 free circles will be opened in 2026. They will earn in partner schools in different regions of Russia: teenagers from 13 years old will be able to enter. In three months, schoolchildren will delve into the topic of physical AI and learn how to program AI robots on real devices: work with sensors and cameras, build navigation and recognition algorithms, integrate cloud services for speech and image processing. The result will be a real project: a physical robot that understands voice commands, builds a map of the room, independently moves to the target and interacts with the environment. Graduates will receive a certificate of specialization in AI robotics at the Yandex Lyceum and a ready-made project portfolio for digital resumes, competitions and admission to universities.

Yandex and Russian universities are launching a new educational program - Physical AI Garage. The initiative brings together five universities - ITMO, HSE, MIPT, MEPhI, MAI - to train engineers in the field of physical AI on the real tasks of the industry.

The educational program is designed so that some of the courses are implemented on the basis of universities, some - on practical modules in Yandex offices. Within the modules led by Yandex mentors, students will jointly solve real problems related to physical AI. The first enrollment will include 100 students from participating universities. In the fall of 2026, Yandex Education will launch a single module on physical AI, which will be available to students of 27 universities in 18 regions of the country. 1,000 students will begin to study AI robotics.

Students will get acquainted with different aspects of physical AI and learn the features of creating autonomous systems. AI Robotics, developed by Yandex Education, Yandex Robotics and Skoltech, will also be included in the direction of physical AI. The program was opened this academic year: students began to study robotic engineering and machine learning, immerse themselves in real tasks and projects with Yandex mentors and speakers.

AI robotics and physical AI are advanced areas of technology focused on the creation of intelligent robots and autonomous systems capable of perceiving and analyzing the world around them, as well as making independent decisions in real conditions. They are used to solve complex practical problems in various fields - from logistics and production to materials science and medicine.

Two teams are developing directions in Yandex: Yandex Robotics creates a universal "brain" for service and industrial robots, and the autonomous transport team develops technologies that allow vehicles to see the road and make safe decisions. The expertise and experience of both teams became the basis for a new educational direction in the field of AI robotics.

Master's Program Launch Plan at HSE, MIPT and Skoltech

In the summer of 2025, the HSE, MIPT and Skoltech will start recruiting for master's programs developed by experts from Yandex [[Education 'Education] and]] company services. Launch of AI assistant line for teachers

Yandex has launched a line of AI assistants for teachers based on the YandexGPT family model, which will help teachers and teachers prepare training materials, evaluate students' knowledge faster and check whether they used neural networks when writing work. These tools will complement Yandex's line of AI solutions for education. Yandex announced this on March 5, 2025.

The Neuroquise tool allows you to create validation tests in a few minutes. It is enough to upload educational materials to the platform, and the neural network will generate questions and answer options, including correct and incorrect ones.

This simplifies the knowledge assessment process and frees up teacher time for other tasks.

To check essays, abstracts and other written works, Yandex Education developed a "Neurodetector." It analyzes the text and allows you to determine the degree of its uniqueness - whether it is written by a person or a neural network.

The tool highlights works that could be highly likely to be generated by AI and identifies students who are overly reliant on AI for assignments. At the same time, the conclusions of the "Neurodetector" act only as a recommendation for the teacher, indicating works that require special attention. Both AI assistants are available in your personal account on the Yandex Education website.

The third tool is an AI assistant for computer science teachers in Yandex Textbook. It will help you draw up a lesson plan and choose individual practical tasks of different levels of complexity for each child. The service will tell the teacher how to explain terms and abstract concepts in simple words so that it is easier for students to learn a new topic. It will also be useful when checking homework: it will analyze the student's code, point out errors and figure out the solution. The tool and ready-made promtas for communicating with the AI assistant are available in the chat of the teacher's personal account.

Since 2023, Yandex has been developing educational products and solutions based on neural networks. So, in Yandex Textbook, solutions with an AI assistant are already available: in mathematics for grades 5-8 and for preparing for the Unified State Exam in computer science. Yandex Internum students can turn to the neural network for a brief retelling of the material or for help in working on errors.

In 2024, together with the Higher School of Economics, a pilot project was launched to use YandexGPT in writing thesis: students for the first time used a neural network to solve a predetermined number of tasks that usually take a lot of time. In 2025, new universities and more students will join the project. In addition, in December 2024, Yandex and MIPT taught the neural network to evaluate the answers of the online stage of the Lomonosov Tournament school olympiad. For the first time, YandexGPT checked 35 thousand works in physics, chemistry and astronomy. This made it possible to reduce the stage of evaluation of work from three months to one, while maintaining the quality of the inspection at the same level.
