2025: Introduction of a robot to feed cows

In early March 2025, it became known that an autonomous robot designed to feed cows was introduced in Karelia on the Vidlitskaya farm (a structural unit of the Ilyinskoye state enterprise). This machine helps to increase daily milk yield.

This robot works around the clock, automatically pushing the feed in the cows, which provides constant access to fresh animal food. According to the developers, this reduces stress in the herd and improves food consumption, which contributes to an increase in milk yield. The system can be programmed for different routes, and it uses transponder technology to orient in space. The robot is charged at a dedicated station that can be installed both inside and outside the barn, freeing up time for farmers.

The Ilyinskoye breeding farm, with the help of state support, restored a 400-head livestock complex in Vidlitsa. As part of the project, a milking room with 32 seats was built. The site has installed livestock equipment that meets modern standards. Facilities are provided for employees with changing rooms, showers and toilets, rest rooms. Repair and restoration work cost 220 million rubles, of which almost 129 million rubles were a subsidy from the regional budget.

As the head of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov said, the robot introduced at the Vidlitskaya farm provides automated feed supply in accordance with a clear schedule. Thanks to this, the daily yield from each cow increased by 1 kg. The Moov robot is able to function at any time of the day without human participation, which increases the efficiency of the enterprise. As of the beginning of March 2025, the farm produces 16 tons of milk per day, supplying it to the Olonets Dairy Plant. According to Parfenchikov, further plans include the construction of a modern feed center on the farm, as well as the creation of another 400-head complex.

The company will invest in the project, but support from the state is needed to quickly implement it. According to Vidlitsa's experience, when new farms appear on the site of old farms, we will build, reconstruct objects in Pryazh, Tolvuya, and then in our other villages and villages, - notes the head of Karelia.[1]
