One of the projects is the production of drugs. In addition, the production of autonomous fire extinguishing devices will be established. Another project is related to the development of a system for disinfection and sterilization of medical devices. Investors also want to develop domestic DNA research equipment.

The agreement on the creation of the SEZ "Big Serpukhov" is concluded between the Ministry of Economic Development on behalf of the Government of the Russian Federation, the government of the Moscow Region and the administration of the city district of Serpukhov. Placement in the SEZ will give business a number of advantages. In particular, residents can enjoy tax breaks and customs preferences, as well as count on a decrease in rental payments.

As of the beginning of 2025, 53 SEZs operate in Russia (34 industrial, 7 technical, 10 tourist and recreational and 2 port ones). For 19 years of work, 1208 residents are registered in them, of which more than 109 companies with foreign capital from 33 countries. Over the years, the total volume of declared investments amounted to approximately 6.3 trillion rubles, invested investments - over 1.8 trillion rubles. At the same time, more than 83 thousand workplaces have been formed. All SEZ sites are provided with a completely new and modern infrastructure.[1]
