2025: Launch of a letter digitizing service for individuals

On March 17, 2025, the Russian Post launched a letter digitization service for individuals. In pilot mode, the service was launched for residents of Moscow, St. Petersburg and Tver. Previously, it was available only to legal entities.

Thanks to this service, customers can quickly familiarize themselves with the contents of their letter in digital format, without waiting for correspondence to arrive at the post office. Mail employees in specialized scanning centers quickly digitize incoming items and upload them to the client's personal account in the Mail mobile application. The cost of the service is 63 rubles. The original letters are stored for free for a month, after which they are disposed of.

Russian Post began a project to digitize written correspondence for legal entities three years ago. As of March 2025, the company has a network of 20 specialized centers across the country. Mail ensures the security of the digitization process by complying with all privacy requirements.

In 2024, the Russian Post has already processed more than a million emails and digitized over three million pages of documents for corporate customers. According to internal research of the Post, digitized document flow reduces the total processing time of documentation by 25%.
