Yeni Safak

Company

Turkish media.

Yeni Şafak for 2025 is owned by Albayrak Holding, a large conglomerate associated with the family of Ahmet Albayrak, a close ally of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

2025: Support for the ideas of pan-Turkism and Turkey's expansion in other countries

The newspaper describes itself as a conservative and nationalist media with the clear loyalty of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), which makes it the mouthpiece of Ankara's official policy.

The publication actively supports Erdogan's foreign policy, including his intervention in conflicts in Syria, Libya and Nagorno-Karabakh, which strengthens its reputation as a tool of state propaganda.

The statements published on its pages are a direct expression of the point of view of the Turkish authorities.

In March 2025, the Turkish Foreign Ministry, from the pages of the Russian-language publication Yeni Şafak called the return of Crimea to Russia "annexation" and "violation of international law," stressing support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

At the same time, Yeni Şafak 's rhetoric, support for the Veliky Turan and emphasis on pan-Turkism echo the ideology of organizations like Gray Wolves, whose ideas are copied by nationalists in some regions of Russia.

Yeni Şafak acts not only as Erdogan's media asset, but also as a channel to promote Turkish influence, potentially destabilizing neighboring states, including Russia.
