2023: Analysis of medical data for the Ministry of Health, MIAC and chief doctors in the Magadan region on the basis of AW BI

As an automation tool focused on supporting the activities of analytical groups, to reduce the time of the data analysis cycle and the processes of making objectively motivated management decisions, it was necessary to develop an information and analytical system "Analytics Workplace."

Representatives of the Ministry of Health, MIAC, as well as chief doctors of medical organizations need to analyze the primary information arising during the provision of medical services and available in the EMISZ of the Magadan Region, as well as other information systems that support healthcare processes. In particular, the following tasks must be solved:

• prompt receipt of analytical information based on data from EMISZ;
• joint management of the information acquisition process;
• analysis and interpretation of facts;
• visualization of analysis results;
• exchange of analysis results.

The platform, AW BI on the basis of which the information and analytical system "Analytics Workplace" was created, allowed the region to receive analytics in the form of information panels. EMISZ of the Magadan Region is used as the main data source, and data is also available from other sources (for example, from files in format Excel or CSV).

As part of the creation of the Analytics Workplace system, such dashboards as:

• Physician Appointment Record Analytics
• Service Analytics
• Hospital Admission Analytics
• Completed Hospital Case Analytics
• Analysis of the amount of medical care provided aimed at payment for compulsory medical insurance
• Electronic Document Submission Analytics to the EDM, etc.

In total, more than 20 information panels were implemented.

The information and analytical system "Analytics Workplace" has combined both operational analytics aimed at supporting the treatment process (as, for example, the list of admitted patients in the last 24 hours) and managerial, combining data on the region as a whole to form an overall picture.

The information panels implemented in the system clearly display bottlenecks and give rise to additional elaboration of existing problems, training of specialist doctors, additional customization of reporting in order to receive operational and complete information from the medical information system every day.

Based on the analysis, it was possible to establish the need to develop measures to expand the use of digital services by both employees of medical organizations and the population. For example, the training of independent appointment through the regional portal or infomats will be relevant for residents of the region, which will help to avoid queues and long waits. And the timely and complete sending of medical documents to the federal subsystems will not only improve the quality of the medical care provided (due to the completeness of information about the patient), but also enable the patient to independently study this data on the My Health portal.
