2025: Attracting investments worth ₽1 billion from the Voskhod fund

On April 10, 2024, the Voskhod Foundation announced an investment in New Diamond Technology (BAT), a company engaged in the production of diamond substrates for the needs of microelectronics. We are talking about investments in the amount of ₽1 billion.

The funds provided by the fund, whose anchor investor is the Interros group, are aimed at scaling up research and development, as well as expanding the company's commercial presence in the markets of the electronic component base, including segments of quantum and semiconductor technologies. The investment deal was implemented at the site in Moscow.

The Voskhod Foundation invested ₽1 billion in the manufacturer of diamond substrates for BAT electronics

According to the press service of the Voskhod Foundation, the priority of the company's strategy is the development of end-to-end technology for the industrial production of large-diameter diamond plates with increased characteristics for commercially sought-after areas. BAT specializes in growing diamonds of large and especially large sizes (over 100 carats) and the production of diamond plates from them ranging in size from 3 mm to 15 mm.

The company's production is located in St. Petersburg. Consumers of diamond substrates are Russian and international companies, as well as world-class research centers. The company uses two main technologies for growing artificial diamonds: the NRNT (high pressure, high temperature) method, which simulates natural conditions for the production of diamonds, and CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) to form substrates with specified properties.

Technical Director of BAT Alexander Kolyadin emphasized that the company seeks to develop an end-to-end technology for the industrial production of large-area single-crystal diamond plates with reduced defectiveness and a controlled impurity background. Such plates will be used in commercially popular directions: quantum electronics, in the manufacture of electronic components of microelectronics, power electronics and microwave.
