2025: Park Construction
In mid-April 2025, it became known that the Innovation Scientific and Technological Center (INTC) "Unity Park" was created on the territory of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Ugra. Investments in the project, initiated by Surgut State University, amounted to 94 billion rubles.
INTC is aimed at supporting breakthrough scientific research, developing human resources and creating a scientific and technological cluster to promote domestic technologies in the Russian and international markets. It is assumed that the emergence of the center will improve the quality of life of the region's population by expanding access to educational and high-tech medical services. Key areas of activity are:
- Development of energy security technologies;
- Health and quality of life of the population;
- Advanced engineering technologies and new materials adapted to the conditions of the North and the Arctic.
Various scientific and infrastructure facilities will be located on the territory of the park. These are, in particular, the Center for High Biomedical Technologies, the Scientific Center in the village of Shapsha, the university campus, the Center for the Development of Talents of Children and Youth, a technopark, a thermal complex, a hotel, a multifunctional center and office premises, a congress and exhibition center, an innovative school, preschool educational institutions, residential buildings, etc. The construction of a medical center is envisaged, which will provide assistance to students, scientific and pedagogical workers, employees of the center and their families, as well as citizens living in the immediate vicinity of the Unity Park Research and Development Center. The medical facility will house an outpatient department, a radiation diagnostics unit, an operating module, a day and round-the-clock hospital for the adult population.[1]
