2025: Plan to implement an AI solution for routing a banking product delivery service

VTB plans to introduce a single AI solution for routing the delivery service for banking products. The development, created by the T1 IT holding, was presented on April 17, 2025.

A single solution calculates routes for outbound managers of the bank who deliver banking products to VTB customers. The T1 solution will allow combining the disparate IT systems of Russian and foreign developers, which the bank uses for April 2025, and optimizing logistics processes. VTB expects to implement the solution by the end of the first quarter of 2026.

The introduction of a single solution with an advanced level of analytics and artificial intelligence will allow the bank to optimize logistics resources, which will lead to a reduction in costs when improving the quality of service, - said Maxim Konovalikhin, Senior Vice President, Head of Data Analysis and Modeling at VTB Bank.

The built-in AI module allows the solution to flexibly adapt to the current goals of the bank. Depending on the tasks set, artificial intelligence will either distribute all routes evenly between all the managers involved in the specified location, or build routes for the minimum required number of employees in order to free up the remaining ones for other tasks.

The data analysis module also allows the solution to build routes taking into account not only the time and distance, but also the competence of employees, their method of movement, as well as the availability or lack of access to certain types of banking products. The solution validates and corrects geodata, reducing dependence on external providers of such information.

There is a shortage of complex Russian solutions in the logistics services market. Our team managed to create a system on the most innovative stack and without the use of foreign components. The product code is developed entirely in Russia, while we strive to minimize the use of open source libraries, which indicates both the maximum degree of localization of expertise and the possibilities of supporting and adapting the developed solutions to any customer needs. All this meets strict security requirements in one of the largest banks in the country, - commented Sergey Golitsyn, head, AI T1 (part of the T1 IT holding).
