Rostelecom and Solar have strengthened Mosenergosbyt data protection using GOST VPN

2025: Dedicated Data Link Protection

Rostelecom and the Solar group of companies provided cryptographic protection of dedicated data transmission channels between the central office of Mosenergosbyt JSC and its 49 offices in Moscow and the Moscow region. For this, crypto-locks certified by the FSB of Russia were installed in all territorial branches of the organization. Protection is implemented on the basis of the GOST VPN Solara service. Rostelecom announced this on May 28, 2025.

As provided for by Federal Law No. 187-FZ "On the Security of the Critical Information Infrastructure of the Russian Federation," subjects of the critical information infrastructure are obliged to use GOST encryption for data transfer in accordance with the legislation on the protection of CII. This is necessary for the smooth operation of the IT systems of organizations on which the well-being of citizens depends. That is why, to solve this problem, Mosenergosbyt turned to Rostelecom, which since 2006 has been a reliable communication provider for the energy company.

Rostelecom introduced the Solar GOST VPN service to the client, which ensured the protection of Rostelecom's dedicated channels with certified Russian encryption.

The period for introducing and seamlessly switching to the communication infrastructure with crypto locks was only 2 months. After connecting, Mosenergosbyt gained access to its personal account (IC IC), which displays detailed information about the connection of offices and the status of the availability of cryptographic protection tools (CIPF). All necessary information about the service can be uploaded in the report format, and if necessary, contact your personal manager or technical support available 24/7.
