Ring distribution center is equipped with WMS system

Tasks

Among the main tasks facing the automation of the RC are reducing losses on the configuration of orders (commissions), one of the most labor-intensive operations, and increasing turnover. It was important to speed up the selection and picking of orders, while using fewer employees, as well as more clearly comply with the terms and conditions of storage of goods.

Results

With the implementation of the WMS solution, the logistics management loop covered the distribution center. A two-story warehouse with an area of ​ ​ 5 thousand square meters for 1 thousand storage places (cells) works both to ensure the retail activities of the Ring chain and for the company's wholesale trade. The range of RCs is 2 thousand product items.

Realization

The RC automation project is based on the application of the principle of targeted storage of goods in a warehouse, when the information system "remembers" the physical location of each storage unit in cells (storage places) marked with barcodes.

To implement the automation project, the company FIT used the subsystem for managing the location of goods in the warehouse of the system. GESTORI Pro Together with the accounting functions of the system, GESTORI Pro this specialized component of the class WMS provides automation of the distribution center and takes into account the places of storage of goods, monitors their internal movements, the period of sale, as well as the weight of a specific unit of storage of products in the warehouse. At the same time, optimized roadmaps are formed to speed up the commission processes (assembly of orders and movement of goods in the warehouse).

First results

According to representatives of the Ring network, they were one of the first among the local networks of the Eastern Orenburg region to automate their RC. The network notes that they have already felt a positive effect from the implementation of a WMS solution at the RC within the framework of a single logistics management system for the retail network. In particular, there was no need each time to train new RC employees in the assortment and location of goods in the warehouse, which is relevant in conditions of high "turnover" of personnel in the industry. It has become easier to issue invoices. It now takes 15 minutes to assemble an order, such as from 50 SKUs, instead of an hour to implement the WMS solution.

As a result of automation of RC Ring network business processes, the following tasks were solved:

• Implements the selected commission model.
• Provision of both commodity movement and location control functions within a single IE.
• Formation in IP of unique product storage units necessary to work with food (often weighing and perishable) goods.
• Providing logistic integration of the chain of supply of a chain retail company from RC to stores.

The use of the functionality WMS of the system GESTORI Pro in the RC network "Ring" allowed:

• Minimize losses by minimizing errors: increase order accuracy and speed, and clearly monitor retention times and conditions.
• Increase the productivity of personnel and optimize human resources management: less time and people are spent on the behavior of each operation.
• Increase sales, improving the quality of service to wholesale customers, increasing the efficiency, accuracy and convenience of calculations.
