In the rating "TOP-100: the largest retail companies in Russia," compiled by the results of 2008 by the magazine "Finance," GESTORI Pro confidently leads in the number of users: every fifth grocery chain uses this system.

Distinctive features: scalability, use of industrial development platforms, remote access to the database using low-speed channels. The DiAna: Digital Analytics Pro analytical OLAP system, which belongs to the BI (Business Intelligence) class, logically complements GESTORI Pro.

Brief on architecture

A feature of FIT's approach is the automation of super- and hypermarket networks with a centralized management model. At the same time, the architecture of the GESTORI Pro information system can be anything. However, as the practice of using the system by network clients shows, the most effective solution is to apply the centralized principle of its construction. It allows you to flexibly distribute and quickly redistribute management functions between network objects up to the concentration of most managers in the center, thereby reducing their number and increasing the level of quality and control over their activities.

This effect is achieved thanks to the functional orientation of the GESTORI Pro system on the user without reference to his location on a particular object of the trading company.

System features including ease of use and stability/reliability

The use of industrial DBMS makes the GESTORI Pro system stable and practically trouble-free. The integrity and consistency of data guarantee increased reliability, and multi-level protection against unauthorized access and mechanisms for protecting against user errors ensure virtually 100% safety and reliability of information.

GESTORI Pro uses an intuitive interface, reducing errors and making data entry faster, and the tip system makes it easier for novice users. The dialogue with the system becomes as simple as possible, so that the employee can focus on the essence of the work being done.

Administrative functions play an important role in improving the flexibility and reliability of the GESTORI Pro system, which allow you to enter new users and give them different levels of access and authority, set dynamic commodity views, as well as views of management objects and suppliers.

System openness

The openness of the system is a guarantee of its longevity. As practice shows, in the process of development and enlargement of a trading enterprise, there may be a need to use corporate information systems (CIS). They are designed to complement GESTORI Pro in areas such as accounting and financial accounting, cash flow planning, human resources management.

FIT adheres to the principle of openness when implementing its systems. GESTORI Pro is no exception: it uses a reliable interface with ERP systems, as well as classic accounting software complexes.

The project of integration of the GESTORI Pro system with the SAP ERP-class CIS R/3 in the KOPEIKA network was successfully implemented. Both interacting software complexes have a centralized architecture, which makes it possible to build the most efficient control system for a geographically distributed network.

Functionality

Account

The activity of a trading enterprise is a closed cycle: Accounting - Analysis - Management.

In this continuous process, the GESTORI Pro system plays the role of an instrumental core that combines all stages of the cycle.

The system is document-oriented. Any commodity transaction (order, receipt, transfer within the enterprise, write-off, re-order  , etc.) is accompanied by the creation of a document that allows you to track the actions of each worker in the system and all changes that occur with the article, for example, the history of changes in its sales price.

A distinctive feature and undoubted advantage of the GESTORI Pro system is accounting at average purchase prices. Accounting becomes more flexible and easy, allows the retailer to act much more quickly than competitors, untie the phases of capitalization and delivery of goods to the trading floor, speed up the process of assigning new retail prices as much as possible, and quickly eliminate possible errors in paperwork. In addition to the average price accounting principle, FIFO applies to accounts payable.

Thanks to the open list of properties of a particular product in the item reference book, the user has the opportunity to supplement its description with the necessary characteristics in order to obtain detailed analytical detail.

The automation of the inventory process using the GESTORI Pro system is focused on a technology that provides a high speed of its implementation without stopping the work of the retail enterprise and keeping records.

Multi-currency support has been implemented.

Analysis

The GESTORI Pro system has extensive analytical capabilities for assessing the effectiveness of management impacts and innovations. It allows you to objectively analyze the work of personnel in the organization of sales, assess the state of stocks, the profitability of the activities of each division and the entire enterprise as a whole, track the dynamics of trade over the analyzed period, etc. At the same time, more complex analytical tasks are based on the data generated during accounting in the GESTORI Pro (Data Warehouse) system data store. With its help, you can give a forecast of expected sales and form a purchase plan, highlight the best and worst in terms of demand, assess turnover, and analyze the compliance of orders and deliveries.

Even more opportunities for analyzing the efficiency and optimization of the retail enterprise provide managers with a new development - the DiAna: Digital Analytics decision support analytical system.

The DiAna software package is built on the technology of multidimensional data analysis OLAP (On-Line Analytical Processing). The main advantages of the system are efficiency and clarity. They cannot be dispensed with when processing large amounts of data, when it is important not to miss the thread of logical reasoning in the process of analysis and decision-making. The program allows you to analyze sales dynamics, including in the hourly context, correctly form an assortment policy focused on a loyal group of consumers, and make informed management decisions.

DiAna also provides the opportunity to track the dynamics of product balances, revealing the absence of goods in the assortment, as well as the facts of errors in procurement activities, which led to the redundancy of stocks, including in the context of suppliers.

The DiAna analytical system is aimed at those who want to have perfect logistics, correctly position the trading enterprise based on the analysis of commodity checks and optimize inventory. (For more details, see the special booklet on the DiAna system)

Management

The entire set of business processes for managing a trading enterprise in the GESTORI Pro system is conditionally divided into several functional units:

  • TRADING HALL MANAGEMENT
  • ASSORTMENT AND PRICING MANAGEMENT
  • PROCUREMENT MANAGEMENT
  • CATEGORY MANAGEMENT SUPPORT
  • WAREHOUSE, DISTRIBUTION OR DISTRIBUTION CENTER MANAGEMENT
  • PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT
  • CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT (CRM)

TRADING HALL MANAGEMENT

The GESTORI Pro information system is an effective tool for managing sales floor business processes. All specialized front-end equipment, including active cash registers, electronic scales, bar coding systems, price verification terminals, electronic price tags  , etc., is integrated into a single information complex under the control of GESTORI Pro.

The system performs not only the functions of collecting/transmitting data to the front-end of the device, but also allows you to perform a number of service operations remotely (at sites). This is especially true for network trading companies with a large number of distributed management objects of various sizes. Among the operations performed are bidirectional data exchange with POS systems, printing price tags, price lists, barcode labels and lists of goods without a barcode, exporting data to Excel, Word or to data collection terminals and others.

ASSORTMENT AND PRICING MANAGEMENT

The GESTORI Pro assortment is managed by using the multiple assortment matrix management mechanism, which is assigned to the different formats of the trading company's business units. In addition to the convenience of users who always work only with the current assortment, which means faster and with greater productivity, this mechanism allows you to minimize personnel errors in the formation of commodity movement documents, in particular, when moving goods from one object to another.

The purpose of retail prices is recorded in special documents of management objects. GESTORI Pro pricing can be managed from a single center and allows you to flexibly price the same item for each retail location, format, positioning, and competitive environment.

You can also set different prices for one item depending on its sales form, such as the packaging type, which is the fundamental rule for Cash & Carry stores.

PROCUREMENT POLICY MANAGEMENT

GESTORI Pro can order goods from vendors in three ways:

  • 1. Centrally.
  • 2. From each store independently within the framework of a centrally coordinated assortment policy.
  • 3. In mixed form, when part of the goods is ordered centrally, and part - independently.

In centralized order management, two order types are used to determine the quantity of goods ordered, conditionally defined by us as:

  • 1. Automated order.
  • 2. Automatic order.

Using the automated order principle, information on replenishment requirements (orders from stores) is received from all retail objects based on information on real inventory balances and consolidated in orders to suppliers.

In the case of a centralized information system architecture, this process takes place in real time and allows the RC or procurement department to quickly respond and meet the established need. If there is a DC in the network, this type of order allows you to minimize "failures" in the assortment of stores and thereby maintain the loyalty of customers.

When centralizing the order management function, network enterprises are increasingly using the principle of the so-called automatic order. Unlike an automated order, all the data required to calculate the quantity of an ordered article is taken from the information system. This data is processed according to individual algorithms, taking into account many parameters, such as current balances, sales rates for previous periods, seasonality, turnover  , etc.

In the case of both automatic and automated order, the final decision on its acceptance is based on the information contained in the settlement module with suppliers. It calculates the indebtedness of the trading company to the relevant supplier, taking into account the terms of delivery and payment.

CATEGORY MANAGEMENT SUPPORT

For category managers, the GESTORI Pro system implements the principle of focusing using commodity and object views, as well as supplier views in the case of outsourcing their replenishment services for supplied goods.

WAREHOUSE, DISTRIBUTION OR DISTRIBUTION CENTER MANAGEMENT (WMS, SCM)

Among the new GESTORI Pro modules is a class subsystem WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) for managing business processes of RC/DC of trading companies and warehouses of manufacturing enterprises.

An important feature of the development is the ability to track not only stocks of goods, but also their location in the warehouse. The storage bin layout topology can be described in a system with any hierarchy level. The system supports the organization of the processes of placement and selection of goods according to two models of commission: dynamic and static. Optimized roadmap for selecting goods for picking a shipment order (commission cards) is formed, taking into account the shelf life and weight of product storage units. This possibility avoids unreasonable losses due to expiration of perishable goods, as well as personnel theft due to weight control at each stage of cargo processing.

An important feature of the module is its integration with the accounting functions of the system. This makes it possible to minimize the time of each logistics operation, which is especially important for the effective operation of the DC/DC due to the priority of the commission process and its high intensity.

PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT

In the GESTORI Pro system, the production process is accompanied by the execution of three types of documents: calculation, production certificate and study certificate. The "Calculation" document is used to determine the composition of ingredients and their quantity required for the production of a given volume of products. A single dish (composite commodity) can have many calculation cards, and their nesting is not limited.

The document "Certificate of Production (Procurement)" determines the quantity of products produced, which is registered with automatic write-off from the residues of ingredients specified in the relevant calculations.

The document "Act of Study (Disassembly)" describes the formation of one or more products and their volumes from a certain amount of one product being worked.

CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT (CRM)

Increasing customer loyalty, attracting them with discount programs and maintaining an individual approach using personal marketing systems are tasks of CRM technologies aimed at stimulating sales. With the tightening of competition, the importance of effective customer relationship management increases. The GESTORI Pro system has an expanded set of personal marketing support functions in a network trading company and provides various marketing activities both on an individual site and on an entire network.

GESTORI Pro Features

A distinctive feature of the GESTORI Pro system is the harmony of information and trade technologies.

The ability to build a centralized information system architecture turns GESTORI Pro from an accounting system into an effective tool for real-time operational control of commodity movement, which can be used both at the level of a local store, warehouse or restaurant, and for an extensive network of retail enterprises of any scale and format. In this case, the system provides the following capabilities and benefits:

  • A single information space for real-time decision-making based on up-to-date, complete and consistent information about the logistics business processes taking place in the trading company.
  • The ability to carry out up-to-date analytical assessments for each management object and for the entire trading enterprise, which ensures the rational use of financial resources to achieve the greatest efficiency of the company.
  • Management of a group of trading companies operating within a single integrated logistics model.
  • Possibility of formation of optimal structure of control apparatus by its concentration.
  • Minimal traffic when working on dedicated communication channels due to the use of terminal access mode.
  • The ability to control cash registers directly from the center using a remote resident interface with cash registers installed at retail outlets. In this case, the exchange of information between the GESTORI Pro system and POS systems occurs without delaying the cashier's work.
  • The ability to use almost any hardware server platform, which is necessary to scale the system as the trading company grows.
  • The ability to accelerate the launch of new trading company facilities.

GESTORI Pro User Benefits
